Chris Champion - Transitions Specialist
Chris served as a global worker with TMS-Global for 14 years and retired at the end of 2019. Chris and his wife, Sue, lived and worked in Moscow for 12 ½ years, working mainly with language education for students and adults and in support roles in church ministry. Prior to this he had a long career in secondary education and has worked most of his adult life in the people service industry.
Having lived and worked through the challenges of cultural transition and adaptation, Chris is now working as a professional Coach. “I got interested in coaching from the help I received from coaches while living and adapting in a foreign culture”. Chris is a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) with an ICF-certification at the ACC level. He has also a member of the National Career Development Association (NCDA) and has completed training for Facilitating Career Development and is a Certified Career Service Provider with NCDA.
Coaching is a natural extension of teaching and is a positive way to build relationships, foster personal growth and partner with people as they work to achieve their goals and ambitions. Leadership, personal development, and managing life-work balance can be daunting in one’s native culture. Adding the task of cultural transition or even re-adjusting to your home culture is a big challenge. And in today’s global economy, most people will also make choices to change or develop their careers at some time in their life. Coaching is a great way to navigate these transitions. Working with an objective and supportive coach helps people move forward and be in a place to thrive on the other side. I’m excited to be a part of the La Posada team!
